Club Brugge received the green light for the building permit for the new stadium. After so many years it seems to be coming to an end. A stadium with more than 40,000 seats. Or are there still obstacles emerging?
The city of Bruges linked this new football temple to a new stadium for Cercle Brugge on the Blankenbergsesteenweg. There is no green light for that second site yet.
“Cercle Brugge took note of the decision to grant a building permit to Club Brugge for a new stadium on the Olympia site,” it said in an official response. “Over the past few weeks, Cercle Brugge has had constructive discussions with both the city council and the Flemish Government, whereby a definitive solution for all parties involved must remain the starting point.”
It is possible that Cercle Brugge will appeal against the allocation for the building permit for the blue-black stadium. “Cercle Brugge is therefore looking at what steps it will take further,” it sounds.
