Many spectators already thought at the start of the match that they would receive a copy of the Latvia – Netherlands match. UD played football with a striker and mainly defended its own 16-meter area with the rest. One player really stood out at UD, that was the goalkeeper. It is thanks to him that the game did not end with higher numbers than the 5-0 that finally stood on the scoreboard after 90 minutes.
Helios determined the match from the start and tried to get the 1-0 on the scoreboard as quickly as possible through combination football. In the 7th minute it turned out that the UD keeper would be an obstacle. A hard shot from Yilmaz was skilfully parried. Helios pressed more and more and in the 8th minute, after several UD players had thrown themselves into the path of the shot, the referee noted a handball. The next penalty was shot in tightly by Jarmo van ‘t Hof: 1-0. It took until the 42nd minute before Helios could extend the score. Glenn Albers, nicely cleared on the right, gave a nice pass to Bas Lieftink who came along, (under 17 player) who headed in tightly in his course and left the keeper without a chance this time (2-0). Lieftink, who made his debut, came in because Zandvliet was injured.

Then the keeper kept the score at 2-0 until halftime after he skillfully stopped shots from Van ‘t Hof and Smeitink and had luck on his side when Iljen Bruinsma saw a hard shot hit the post. Furthermore, with art, hanging and flying work by UD, no more goals were scored until half-time.

After the break, and it gets monotonous, it was the UD keeper who stopped a higher score. In ten minutes Van ‘t Hof and Bruinsma came face to face with the keeper, but he managed to parry the bets.
It lasted until the 74th minute when Van ‘t Hof was able to finish (3-0) after a nice deep pass from Jeray Galanggadjir and Jarmo increased the lead in the 79th minute to 4-0. In the 90th minute, Lieftink made his debut even better after he left two UD players behind and his precise pass was nicely finished by Glenn Albers: 5-0.
Next week Helios will face a more difficult opponent and will play against SV Twello..
